Low Carbon Heat Network
2024
A bespoke social value framework for a low carbon heat network developer, shaped around how they really work with communities.
The opportunity
As a low carbon heat network developer scaling up across the UK, the client wanted social value to be built into its infrastructure delivery from the start, not bolted on afterwards. The challenge was to define what meaningful local impact looked like for energy infrastructure and make it practical to deliver on the ground.
What we did
We worked collaboratively with the team to understand their projects, partners and communities, then created a social value framework tailored to the realities of heat network delivery, including a local impact measurement approach and practical community benefit guidance.
Why it mattered
The business gained an approach it could genuinely use, one that helped it define, measure and build local social value into how it works with communities and partners.
This project was delivered by Theodora and Georgia in a previous role.
